conhost.exe

Java - Get specific word from string [closed]

I have a string that is like this:

String programList = 'List of programs: explorer.exe, conhost.exe, java.exe, something.exe..';

I want to create every word that has the '.exe' to its own string, like this:

String program1 = 'explorer.exe';
String program2 = 'conhost.exe';
String program3 = 'java.ex';
String program4 = 'something.exe';

conhost.exe: Why is conhost.exe being launched?

I'm launching a Java process ('java.exe') from .Net. using Process.Start(). In addition to the Java process, another process called conhost.exe is launched somehow. I am redirecting the output from the Java process to the .Net process.

Why is conhost.exe even launched?
How do I track it from .Net? I want to track this specific instance, and since I'm not creating it directly (but rather the Java.exe process), I don't have it's PID.

conhost.exe: Python on windows - conhost.exe CPU usage

I'm running a Python script on Windows, and I've noticed that even though the Python process takes ~8% CPU, the associated conhost.exe process takes ~14%.

Why is this so? How come such a large part of the CPU consumption is in the conhost and not in the Python process?
Is there a way to reduce this CPU consumption? (besides optimizing the code of course)

UPDATE 1: Win7 64bit, Python 2.6.6

UPDATE 2: The Python program uses a C++ package via SWIG Python bindings. The C++ pa

conhost.exe: Rails server running in command prompt causing conhost.exe to crash

I have a Rails application that requires a bunch of environment stuff to get set up, and right now the easiest way for me to do it is to run a batch file to configure the environment and then launch the server from the command prompt. (Perhaps one day I will bite the bullet and transcribe all of the various environment variables into the project config, but I'd rather not...)

But when I do this, I occasionally manage to crash conhost.exe! It does not seem like I should be able to do thi

conhost.exe: “plink.exe” hangs on Windows Server 2008 R2 , creates process “conhost.exe”

I am new to the whole Windows world. If this is not the place to post this question please point me to the right one. If there is any better place to ask this question, please tell me that too.

Few details:

I have downloaded plink.exe from Putty's website.
I am executing a plink command from the Windows Server 2008 R2(64 bit) which would execute a shell script in a linux box.
The plink command is executed from a .dtsx package which is running as a daemon job on the Windows Se

conhost.exe: Get PID of conhost.exe associated to my console process

I would like to know how I can get the PID of the conhost.exe processed associated to my console process, retrieving this information from my program itself.

My program basically is a 32-bit program running on a 64-bit OS. All of this is written in C/C++. Since probably the conhost.exe process is 64 bit, this might be a little bit more challenging because of that. That said, the only information worth to my eyes is the conhost.exe PID, I don't need anything else.

I'm not too sure h

iexplore.exe: Debugging SHDocVw.InternetExplorer.Quit not closing iexplore.exe process

I think there's no definite answer so how would you approach debugging this problem?:

My main app (a MicroStation plugin) launces IE using the SHDocVw.InternetExplorer COM wrapper, interacts with it, hides it when it is not used (e.g. intercepts when the user closes the window and sets InternetExplorer.Visible to false).

When the main app is closed the plugin closes IE by calling InternetExplorer.Quit but the iexplore process is left running (the IE is hidden at the moment the ma

rundll32.exe: Rundll32.exe javascript

I've just (August 2014) seen a report of a program that uses the command line

How does that work? I thought the first parameter was supposed to be the name of a DLL (mshtml), but how does rundll32 parse that command line?

-system process-: Why is processing a sorted array faster than an unsorted array?

Here is a piece of C++ code that seems very peculiar. For some strange reason, sorting the data miraculously makes the code almost six times faster:

// Generate data
const unsigned arraySize = 32768;
int data[arraySize];

My task is now to extract this PNG file out of the binary file for displaying it or saving it as PNG. I wrote

I have a windows service that launches a Thread. The service starts with SYSTEM ACCOUNT.

Inside the thread I use CoInitialize, because I have a XML object managed by an COM Object.

In some windows (7, 2008 std, not all) my service becomes to allocate memory continuous without any reason (12mb -> 50mb -> 100mb -> 500mb....) .

If I change the logon user of the service to a administrator user the problem stops. I cannot understand what is happening!
