dllhost.exe: Why cant I profile using vsperfmon by attaching to dllhost.exe?

I have a native C++ project that uses COM to communicate with a separate project in VB.NET. I have been able to successfully profile the native project in the past by attaching the project to a separate exe that references the native dll. I'm now trying to profile the native project by connecting to dllhost.exe. This configuration works, since I'm able to debug through dllhost, but if I try and profile the code (or just attach the profiler to dllhost while I'm debugging), the profiler stops and

dllhost.exe: How to monitor a process that launches “dllhost.exe”?

updated

I have a problem related to Process.Start();
My program launches files as processes, like so:

Process processMonitor = new Process();
processMonitor.StartInfo.FileName = filePath; // Example: @'C: est.txt'
processMonitor.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = true;
processMonitor.Exited += new EventHandler(Process_Exited);
processMonitor.EnableRaisingEvents = true;
processMonitor.Start();

// Handle Exited event and display process information.

dllhost.exe: Out-of-Proc-COM-Server (x86): dllhost.exe looks in wrong registry path

I write for a COM-Server (x86) a wrapper based on a DLL surrogate (x64) described like here to get access from a 64-bit-client.

I registered the COM-Server (x86) and the Proxy/Stub-DLL (x86) and they registered in the WOW6432-Nodes.

But when I call the instance with

IShellServerx86* pShellServer = NULL;
::CoCreateInstance(__uuidof(CShellServerx86), NULL, CLSCTX_LOCAL_SERVER |
CLSCTX_ACTIVATE_32_BIT_SERVER, __uuidof(IShellServerx86),

Is there another way to generate stack dumps from dllhost.exe on a crash? i've seen this page (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910904), but it seems to involve the component services program. Is there some registr

I am writing a COM+ component in Delphi 2009 on Windows 8. (I will move on to XE3 soon but for now it's D2009).

I have had quite a few IDE freezes when debugging regular simple forms applicaitions, mainly when closing the application after having stopped in a breakpoint and continued running the following code, but other than that D2009 works fine.

Now, the problem I have is that I am unable to debug the COM+ component. A new instance of this component is created from another forms

dllhost.exe: Dllhost.exe*32 is unable to release 32-bit resources during uninstallation on a 64 bit machine

I am installing 32 bit application, in compatibility mode, on Windows 2008 R2 Server i.e. a 64-bit O.S.
The Installation and the Functionality is working fine.

But, when trying to uninstall the application, we are receiving a error related to ‘COM Surrogate’. This error occurs randomly.

A message box is displayed saying “Close the below applications before uninstallation” and it displays the “COM Surrogate (Process ID)”. The ProcessID displayed is of the dllhost.exe*32 proces

Thanks

dllhost.exe: PrintTicket DllHost.exe Memory Climbs

I'm using PrintTickets to print a large number of WPF objects and things are printing fine. We do have a situation that has been reported where the program is using a ton of the dllhost.exe memory and climbs until the machine eventually crashes. I've narrowed it down to creating a PrintTicket and the printqueue.getprintcapabilitiesasxml(). Each time these are called it jumps the memory usage of the dllhost.exe each time by sometimes 3+ MB. Can anyone tell me either how to avoid this if possible

I've been exploring various options, such as the /format flag, however it appears that sorting is only possible in XML or HTML output. I would like to sort within command prompt itself. It seems that even TaskList cannot do this (and I would prefer to use wmic since it seems to perform faster).

An example of a command to run would be wmic process get name,processid,workingsetsize. Processes appear to be sorted by processid, but it would make much more sense (in my use case, at least) to s
