driver.exe

What is wrong with this date string? causing: “Unhandled Exception: System.FormatException”

I call my script like this:

>Driver.exe 26268 '01-01-2011' '02-01-2011'

arg 0 : c:ServicesJasperBatchServiceReleaseJasperBatchDriver.exe
arg 1 : 26268

Unhandled Exception: System.FormatException: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.
at System.DateTimeParse.ParseExact(String s, String format, DateTimeFormatInfo dtfi, DateTimeStyles style)
at Program.main(String[] args) in C:ssworkdevfSharpServicesops-ProjectsJasperBatchDriverProgram.fs:line 65

and this is the relavent code:

let mutable argNum = 0
let cmdArgs = System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs()

for arg in cmdArgs do
match argNum with
| 1 -> pmID <- System.Int32.Parse arg
| 2 -> startDate <- DateTime.ParseExact(arg, 'D', new CultureInfo('en-US'))
| 3 -> endDate <- DateTime.ParseExact(arg, 'D', new CultureInfo('en-US'))
| _ -> ()
printfn 'arg %d : %s' argNum arg
argNum <- argNum + 1

i've also tried this:

for arg in cmdArgs do
match argNum with
| 1 -> pmID <- System.Int32.Parse arg
| 2 -> startDate <- DateTime.ParseExact(arg, 'MM-dd-yyyy', new CultureInfo('en-US'))
| 3 -> endDate <- DateTime.ParseExact(arg, 'MM-dd-yyyy', new CultureInfo('en-US'))
| _ -> ()
printfn 'arg %d : %s' argNum arg
argNum <- argNum + 1

and this:

for arg in cmdArgs do
match argNum with
| 1 -> pmID <- System.Int32.Parse arg
| 2 -> startDate <- DateTime.ParseExact(arg, 'MM/dd/yyyy', new CultureInfo('en-US'))
| 3 -> endDate <- DateTime.ParseExact(arg, 'MM/dd/yyyy', new CultureInfo('en-US'))
| _ -> ()
printfn 'arg %d : %s' argNum arg
argNum <- argNum + 1

the closest it seems I came is by using this:

(startDate).ToString('MM/dd/yyyy')

this however added double-quotes to the output....

I know since Vista windows has problem with mapped network drive between administrator user and normal user. A mapped driver created by normal user could not be accessed by administrator, including programs running as administrator and windows service programs with default user group (the local system).

I know it can be fixed with the following reg key set:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem]
'EnableLinkedConnections'=dword:00000001

driver.exe: Linker problem on VS2005 with VC++

Here's the scenario:

Platform:
VS2005 and language is VC++

Situation:
There's just 1 assembly CMPW32. It has 2 projects:
1 is a DLL project called CMPW32 and the 2nd one is an .exe project called Driver
They both share the same Debug folder under the main assembly folder.
I have been able to successfully export a few functions from the DLL. The Driver project accesses 1 of these exported functions. (First of all I am not if functions need to be exported for project

cli.exe: Using Redis via BookSleeve. Unknown parameter

I'm trying to use redis via C#. For this I selected BookSleeve. But I'm interested that most of the methods (reading/writing) need a parameter: int db. The description of this parameter is 'The database to operate on'.
When I set db=0, then I can see keys using redis-cli.exe typing the command KEYS. If db != 0, the keys woudn't be shown.

The question is - What exactly does this parameter mean? I haven't found any information in the web.

gateway.exe: NullReferenceException with no stack trace when hooking SetConsoleCtrlHandler

Using code to hook the console close event from this thread, I sometimes get a NullReferenceException with no stacktrace (most of the times I don't). It happens in both release and debug and 'break when an exception is thrown' doesn't help (it breaks, but the stack trace is still empty). I never get this exception when I exit my application normally (which is hitting enter and thus releasing a Console.ReadLine). The Application event log has 2 entries:

I have an application with version no: 1.0.1, which is an upgrade to the older version 1.0.0.

When I try to install the new version 1.0.1, when my system already has the older version 1.0.0 installed, I am getting the error 2869.

But if I uninstall the older version manually & than try to install the newer version, then it installs successfuly.
It dawned on me that this error is due to some exception in custom action. And hence I executed the following command

spoolsv.exe: Limiting an ATL exe server to one process (instance) only

I have an ATL exe server written with C++ (Visual Studio 2010, with merging the proxy-stud dll). The executable is compiled for Windows 7 x86 & x64. The following happens on both architectures:

The ATL exe server should function as a 'server process', that is - one process (MyATLServer.exe, ONLY one!) should exists per machine and many clients (let's keep it simple: on the same machine) are consuming COM objects from it. The server saves application state (in memory) and all clients s

smss.exe: Geting the file size of a system application on windows in C++

I am trying to get the file size of a system application on windows. To test this i have created a test application that tries to get the file size of smss.exe in C:WindowsSystem32smss.exe but it fails with error: ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. The file does actually exist (i have checked). I've also tried different methods for getting the file size, with: FindFirstFile, CreateFile and GetFileSizeEx. But all return the same error. I would also like to read the file contents.

start1.exe: Utility started from python code doesn't write in file

I have two utilities written in C++, TCP/IP server and client that I have used for years.
Server opens designated file and waits for client to connect. After connection has been established the server starts to send file's content. The client receives it and saves in a file.
Now, I want to write a python script to start both application and wait for them to finish. After that script will do some other work. It is written for Windows.
It is my first script in python. And my first problem

I created very simple Winform application in VS2010 (just a standard template File->New->Project->C# Windows Forms Application).
