Application working with javaw.exe but not with java.exe

I tried to run my application, a .jar file, created with eclipse, with the java.exe in my JRE folder, but it doesn't start up and I get a NoClassDefFoundError.

When I start the .jar with javaw.exe it starts fine and is working as it should.

Both .exe files are in the same folder and have the same version of java. So where could be the problem ?

I thought there isn't a difference between those .exe files except the console window.
